Born and raised in New Haven, Martha graduated from St. Thomas’s Day School in 1998
and from Hopkins in 2004. After completing high school, Martha left New Haven to pursue
an undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College, where she double-majored in American
History and Spanish. Martha worked for three years after college, including one year with
the AmeriCorps*VISTA program. Martha went on to attend Boston College Law School,
and met her husband, Basel, while completing a summer internship in Connecticut. Martha
relocated back to New Haven following her law school graduation and now resides in
Hamden with Basel and their two children, Connor `30 and Rebecca `32. Martha is
currently in-house employment counsel at Gartner, Inc., a global research and advisory
company that is headquartered in Stamford.
