From Kindergarten onward, students learn that they have both the ability and responsibility to strengthen their community. Each grade undertakes a community service project addressing a pressing social issue in the New Haven area. Our approach follows a four-stage model designed to cultivate deep civic engagement: students first investigate a social issue to understand its root causes and effects; they then educate others to raise awareness and build support; next, they take meaningful action through their time, effort, and resources; finally, they reflect on and assess their project’s impact on the community.
We believe that effective leadership begins with a commitment to serving others.
Projects include different types of service learning such as:
- Supporting Animal Welfare (Pet Shelter Support)
- Promoting Literacy Access (Book Drive)
- Combating Food Scarcity (Food Drive)
- Providing Essential Supplies (Clothing & Toy Drives)
- Addressing Homelessness
Students partner and support the following charities and organizations:
- Loaves & Fishes
- Farnam Neighborhood House
- New Haven Reads

- Christian Community Action
- Penny Harvest for local charities in Greater New Haven
