At St. Thomas’s Day School, learning extends far beyond the classroom walls. Students are encouraged to explore their interests and passions through a wide range of extracurricular activities, including basketball, spirit squad, dance team, and a parent-sponsored ski club. These experiences promote collaboration and teamwork while helping students build confidence, resilience, and lasting friendships. In addition, our choir and orchestra give students the opportunity to share their talents through performances for local organizations, connecting learning, creativity, and service to the broader community.

After-school activities play an essential role in supporting students’ overall growth and development. Through sports, arts, clubs, and enrichment programs, students challenge themselves in new ways, discover hidden talents, and develop important life skills such as leadership, responsibility, perseverance, and time management. Just as importantly, these activities foster strong social connections, helping students feel supported, valued, and deeply connected to the St. Thomas’s community.

For Samantha Mokotoff ’26, joining the St. Thomas’s basketball team in fourth grade began as a love for the game—but it quickly became something much more meaningful. “Playing on the St. T’s basketball team has helped me become a better person overall,” she shares. “It has strengthened my confidence and taught me to believe in myself. My coaches and teammates always cheer me on whether we win or lose.”
One of the most impactful parts of the experience for Samantha has been the sense of belonging the team provides. “One of my best friends, Deborah, who is also on the team, supports me no matter what and does the same for everyone,” she says. “Every week I look forward to practice and playing games because what actually matters to me is the team, not just the sport.”
