St. Thomas’s Day School’s Robot Team had a very busy day at the ROBOnanza at Greenwich Academy on Saturday, May 2. Our 22 students did a fabulous job!  All kids who tried completed beginner events and earned special certificates.  For the advanced challenges we had great success, even with 7 schools participating. Grayson and Malcolm won First in Jousting, Matthew took First in Archery, and he also won the Robot Strategy Award.  Liliena scored well in Archery, and she and Eliza earned the Robot Design Award for their innovative design. Ikem and Ruari missed a perfect score in Archery by only one point, thus placing Second.  Emma, teamed with Charlotte, scored a Second and a Third in events.  (St. Thomas’s students won all three Archery awards- the kids loved tossing those hacky sacks onto the target.)  Finally, one of our fourth graders earned Honorable Mention for his efforts to attempt a siege of the castle, the hardest challenge!
